Daylight saving

Does anyone have the real time? I have no idea what time it is. My watch says 11pm. In an hour it'll be 12am midnite. An hour later it'll be 2am. And no, i'm not getting my maths wrong. We push our clocks 1 hour into the future. And lose an hour of sleep. I think. I'm not sure.

Time flies quickly. I can still remember moving our clocks to the past and gaining an hour of sleep.

Spare a throught for those buisness men who just arrived here. No doubt there completely lost.

Double A ads around the world

This is the original one.

And this is the Hong Kong verson!

The only problem I can see through, is the paper will most likely come out totally black, as the lid is open and all the light gets in. I dont you can see much. Dont believe? Go down to the local photocoiper and try that out with your hands. Just open the lid and put your hands 10 cm or so away from the surface.

Taiwanese game shows gone mad

Part 1

Only people with good knowledge of Mandrin and Hokkien will 100% understand. But its enough for most of us to go along with.

Part 2

How come we never get such good stuff in Malaysia? All the Taiwanese shows we got leave me saying :"HAH?"

Sigh...........back to the future

So it has come back to this. Despite 1 weeks of planning, 2.5 hours of editing and uncountable time of fixing up the flaws, at the end of the day, i admit, the previous theme wasn't the best, but i tried my very best to keep up up and running as much as possible.

But no matter what i did, the old template looked like a newspaper. Too formal and hard on the eyes. So I decided to throw in the towel and revert back to this old template. After a few modifications of course.

Well, it's now ninghua v1.5 folks!

Pocky madness!

Anybody need more proof the world has gone mad?

The world has gone mad. Anyone else who doesnt say so is 100% mad. That is the only explanation.

Compared to all the junk people seem to like, I'd say Klorox is the lesser of all of the evils. Just.

I know my blog is IE unfriendly

I've "JUST" realised that my blog looks weird in IE (Internet Explorer). But it looks 100% fine in Mozilla, Firefox and Seamonkey. This is probably coz I do all my HTML template coding and checking in Mozilla, based on the Gecko Engine. So while it looks fine in all 3 browsers (plus Opera. Never had anyone complain from Opera)

People who know me will know that I've been an anti-IE person since day one. More specifically, IE 3.0. I Have never liked anyone to use IE to surf the net. Its flaws are well documented. I dont have the time and paitence to rant and rave them all out here. but the two links will do well.

For the love of the internet and your computer:

Upgrade to Firefox 1.5!

What 火影忍者 is in different countries according to google

I was going through Google's Zeitgist, which shows interesting stasticts on how people search in different parts of the world. And I saw this in the China list:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Scrolling down, I saw what the Taiwanese search for:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Now look closely. In china, 火影忍者 is translated as "a games name", while in taiwan its a "Naruto: Japanese animation character".

For those who don't know, 火影忍者 is the chinese name for Naruto, the anime, which the main character unfortunately shares the same name. Either that, or the entire show is named after him.

In the meantime, here's what we malaysians are looking for:

Why on earth are we looking at the three tabloids most unreadable newspapers? Where is thestar and jeffooi?

I'm surprised that myspace and university of phoenix got it to the top 15. Hardly anyone I know uses the controversial Myspace in Malaysia, and do we have that many people going to university of phoenix?

And here is us boring NZ'ers:

I'm surprised that Sylvia Park didn't make the list...........

Tmnet has 15GBits to the world!

According to Jeff ooi, 17% of Malysians being screamyx is sucking up 73% of the massive 17 gbits Tmnet supposedly has.

The problem is there is a lack of transparency on this. Where are the links leading to? If I look at Twgate, the taiwanese internet gateway's MTRG, to taiwan at least, Tmnet has at least 200mbits. So where are the rest to?

Well, after a bit of tracing, here are the results on my side:

To Hong Kong: here. Scroll down to Telekom Malaysia (Hong Kong) Limited. According to them, Tmnet has GE x 3 to them, which means 3gigabits.

To Japan via JPIX from my side, here. No word on speed through.

I know Tmnet has a link to LINX. Do a tracert and see the first host that Tmnet hits after the Tmnet gateway.

They used to have a link Teleglobe to LA, through I wonder if its still working.

The others I remember: (can anyone in Malaysia confirm these are still working?):

Anyone here want to help me out with the technical specifics?

Discussion on Jeff here and here. Serious and technical discussion on Lowyat, with a fast growing debate on who is to blame. Massive trackback and more detail on friedbeef. redesignmalaysia is also latching on the debate, with good and balanced viewpoints from both sides. Stand up and be counted!

I wonder............

Democracy is wasted on Asian students

Note: I'm not referring to the UPM (UNiversity Penganas Malaysia) sham elections and the student apes. but to me, both are as relevant.

Oh. and video clip of Malays acting like total apes in from of the Chinese are here. And on Youtube, amongst other places.

Democracy is an alien concept to most Asians. And I specifically mean the Chinese. Not just the ones from Commine China, but even the taiwanese, the HK guys and even the Malaysians/Singaporean's. The concept of a majority voting for a leader to lead them and represent them in the halls of power always ends looking like a Woodstock festival. With money, booze and more money.

The reason I'm going on this is that the Board of Trustees representive elections for Macleans, where I am studying has just concluded. The winner has been decided, so its old news, but its the way the people voted that just shows that democracy is wasted on Asians.

A background: the Board of Trustees is a group where they Carry out duties, such as dealing with foreign students, managing the students, uphold the school charter and such. And there can only be only 1 student representive. Now it is quite a high title for any student, as they are almost on par with the teachers in terms of ranking, meaning he/she can influence decisions.

Elections were held last year when I wasn't there obviously. Only 2 candidates (mirror here) ran, and I've never heard a peep from them this year at all. Heck, even some of the students don't even know who they elected last year. And they certainly cant remember the person whom they elected.

This year, 4 candidates ran (mirror here), 2 kiwi's, a Chinese and a Middle eastern guy. And campaigning was quite intense. All 4 candidates were given a chance to speak out, have meet-the-people sessions, was it a carnival. There was the quite but persuasive Mahmood Hikmet, who called himself Moody in his election posters. Then there was the charismatic and friendly Edward Wang. The other 2 candidates, Bryan WIGGILL and Ingrid GILLINGHAM didn't campaign much IMO, through it may because they were more focused on the Kiwi's. Either way, it seemed that Mahmood and Edward were more open to the international students.

If you read what they had to say (mirror here), its quite interesting. I found Edwards overuse on the uppercase letters a bit hard to swallow. It felt like he was shouting at me, which I know he has a loud voice, but at least his loud voice is friendly in person. He was one of the few people that I first met waaaaaaaaaaay back in Jan when I first arrived. Mahmood left quite an impression on me. He really tried to reach out to all students regardless on race, ignoring the (clean) Muslim jokes and even making some of them himself.

As for the other 2, I cant say.

But what impressed me was how diverse Edward and Mahmoods campaign group was. Heck, even Steven Bayer from my class, who call's himself 100% kiwi and makes rude how-Japs-created-war rants at times (much to the displeasure of our teachers considering there is one Japanese in my class!), became Edwards spokesperson! And Mahmood had a much more diverse crew than our so-called multiracial BN.

In the meantime, the Mainland Chinese (MC) students went on with their passive, aphetic lives. The irony, considering Edward is from Guandong. There were few MC in the campaign speeches, maybe since all campaigning was done in English. But when the election day came, and I type this in verbatim, the MC were all saying "Vote for Edward, since he is Chinese."

I've never heard a single Kiwi say "Vote for Bryan WIGGILL/Ingrid GILLINGHAM, because they are Kiwi and the same race as us." At the end of they day, even if they have never heard his campaign speeches, cant read his posters, they blindly vote for Edward since he is Chinese. Edward never campaigned in Chinese (not to my knowledge at least), and all promotion material was in English. If I voted based on race, we'd all be in trouble. The MC are the worst people, narrow minded. If Everest was left to the Chinese, I swear that it will never be climbed, as seen from a MC classmate to mine (in verbatim) when we were talking about Sir Edmund Hilary (which BTW, lives in Auckland!). Please excuse the poor English. : why he go and climb Everest for? So cold and hard, for what? Nothing but snow high there."

I could go on: Left to the Chinese, we would have never discovered penicillin ("mould already! Throw away!"), computers, cars, physics, modern medicine ("the bitter the medicine, the better for you." So lets just eat tree bark then!) and such.

Who I voted for, is irrelevant. But this just underscores how narrow, feeble minded the MC are, incapable of thinking anything beyond their eyes. It all boils down to blood. I know "Blood is thicker than water", but in a democracy, blood is irrelevant. If I was to chose between 2 candidates, a narrow minded, aphatic chinese or a forward looking person of Arab decent, I'd chose the later. Its not blood; its how the people can serve you: which one is the better choice?

So the next time you feel tempted to fight for freedom and democracy in China, just remember, all your efforts are wasted in 1.3 billion people who will vote for the person who gives them the most Ang Paw money.

Ninghua v2.0 launched

As many of my loyal blog readers have noticed, my blog now looks different. Something has changed.

Yes folks, Ninghua v2.0 has been launched! A new layout and a new design/template has breathed mew life into this blog. I have opted for a minimalistic design, with not too many colours and a professional finish. I'm also glad to say that this new template has 38 lines less than the old template. I doubt that this will speed up loading times through.

It took me 1 week of planning and 2.5 hours to tweak this template to my desire. Naturally, there will be some bugs. I've acctually found 1 already: the font size.

But I'll be busy for the next few weeks. But I'm happy to launch Ninghua 2.0.
Now with 180% more goodness (TM) :)

I hate the Chinese

Pre-post note: This is the 100% biased, non politically correct opinions of me, and me alone. I do not represent Malaysia, Malaysians, New Zealand, the kiwi's or even my own family. This post is just my rant's and raves. If youre offended, its your problem. No one forces you to read my rants and raves.
I realise that "chinese" is a general term here. For the purpose of this aritcle, when I mean "chinese", I mean Malaysian-Chinese like me. Others like Mainland chinese from china, HK chinese and Tawanese-chinese, are different. VERY dfferent.

80 years ago, a boy was born in southen china. It was a time of unrest in china, with warlords trying to control the fractions, and KMT and the Cominees fighting. Anyway, he was born in the chaos. As he grew up, his parents realised that he was left handed. In those days, it was regarded as a bad omen. A bad thing. Something connected to the demon. I'm not kidding here. So his father forced him to write with his right hand, the "normal" way.

Wasnt easy for the boy, but that was the least of his worries. Like many chinese during that era, many fled south to escape the chaos in china. They usually ended up in Singapore. From there, they will scatter around what is known as Malaysia, SIngapore and Indonesia today. He ended up in a small town called Sibu. Settled down, survived the japanese occupation, got married and had some kids. One of his daughters met a dashing man, got married, and had kids. When the eldest was old enough, he was sent to Auckland.

In Auckland, the eldest kid ended up living with a mainland chinese. Who was left handed, but wrote with his right hand. A bit akwardly, he thought.

In case you still dont get it, "the boy" is my grandfather. I'm "the eldest son in Auckland", living with this china-man who's driving me nuts.

I TELL YOU, NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN CHINA!!!!! 80 YEARS ago my grandfather was forced to write with his right hand. 80 years down the road, there still thinking like that!!!! WHAT HAS CHANGED? NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The mainland chinese are still as uneducated and peasant like, havent budged an inch  from their outdated thinking from 80 years ago!!!!!!

The irony is that, the more I know these Mainland chinese (MC for short), the more unchinese i feel. The only thing chinese about me is my blood, my genes and the fact i can speak 华语。Any links to china had been long cut off from all this years. the MC i live with is an ailen to me, in speech and culture.

I hate it when in Malaysia, they look at us who can speak chinese and say: "You chinese, can speak chinese, no problem doing buisness with china" and how I'm all ready to cope with the new economy crap. Well, living with a MC has convinced me that that is impossible. I CANT EVEN UNDERSTAND THE MC, THEIR WAYS, THER EATING, AND ABOVE ALL, THEIR LACK OF MANNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The MC i'm living in is a disgrace. Fair enough, this is his first time out of the black hole called china, but I'm cant correct him. The MC all talk very loudly. VERY LOUDLY!!!! if you think my speech is loud, wait till you see them. They can literary wake the entire neighbourhood en route to school! No matter how many times I TRY (key word here is TRY) to tell him to lower his voice, he never learns. Its embarssing at a traffic crossing, when he's going on about the cold weather here and everyone turns to look at us.

Then theres privacy. Or the lack of it. While there seems to be a word for "privacy" in chinese (language), the people obvously dont understand it. I'm still teaching him to knock on my door BEFORE COMING IN!!!!!! Honestly, this thing, knocking on the door before entering, which we Malaysians take for grnated, is ailen to the MC!!!!!! One concequence is that one night, the MC was asked to call the Filipino guy were living with, in his room. UNknown to him, the Filipino guy had his girlfriend in his room. (Thats normal here BTW) So the MC just went to the door, and WITHOUT KNOCKING, OPENED THE DOOR TO THE TWO LOVE BRIDS!!!!

Anyway, the ensuring moments was filled with alot of shouthing from both sides, both in anger and embarassment. And this neutral Malaysian was dragged into the row because the china man couldnt understand what the Filipino was talking about.

I thought knowing chinese (language) was going to be a plus side here. Instead its a double edge sword. I have to TRANSLATE EVERYTHING FOR THAT UNDEUCATED MC PEASANT!!!!!!!

Which brings me to no3: language. We Malaysians can moan at the declining standads of English, moan how our graduates cant string a proper sentance. But I have to say that no matter how bad our English is, were still quite well off. Even the chung hua (read: UCE )students at least know how to use Friendster and computers in ENGLISH! I have never seen anyone use a BM verson of XP. (YES, there is one!) But this MC, he claims that he was in the top ten in his ENglish class in china, yet cant even read "rechargable".

One occation was when he wanted to buy AAA rechargable battries for his eletronic dictonary that all MC and Koreans have here. So we went to The Warehouse. Problem no1: He cant pronounce W-A-R-E-H-O-U-S-E. Thats how bad his English is. Then He ran to the battery rack and took off the first AAA battery pack he saw. I stopped him, saying its not rechargable. He asked "How do you know?"

HOW DO I KNOW???

HOW TO I KNOW??????????

I CAN READ, YOU STUPID MAINLAND CHINESE WHO CANT EVEN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NORMAL AAA AND RECHARGABLE AAA BATTERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the right pack and told him "充电 is rechargable" and pointed the word to him like a kindergarden teacher to the young kid. He looked at it and said "ray-ka-.....", "ree-sha-ah...", "rii-cha-boul".......................

You have no idea how hard it is to teach a MC to pronounce "rechargable"

I end up being the translator to all the notices he gets from school. Even simple things like "We will have a field trip this Friday" HE CANT UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE TO TRANSLATE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The list goes on. He's now in intensive ESOL classes, meaings the whole day he goes to school to do nothing BUT ENGLISH ESOL classes!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

He moaned on wanting to do maths and science. So they gave him a maths book. Now if the question is mostly numbers and universally reconised symbols, he's fine in general. But this question tripped him up:

Find the roots of X^2+6X-8

I hope my fellow Malaysians understand and can do this question. BECAUSE THE MC DOESNT UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He doesnt even know what 加,减,乘,除 is in English (plus minus times divide). Or what does "negative" mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So as you can see, I ended up translating almost everything for him. Which this is getting annoying, as I cant watch TV in peace without him asking every 30 seconds "what was that about?", "what did he say?", "what does that mean?"

WHAT DO I LOOK LIKE?????????????// A UN TRANSLATOR?????? GIVING REAL TIME TRANSLATIONS?????????????????????????????????????????????????

It gets worst. He pratically lives in my room. I have to politely chase him out, but he keeps coming back. To toture me. He say "Need my help" and I end up translating EVERYTHING!!!!

Why even bother coming out of china????????? If all you can do is live in your chinese world???????

Then theres showering. I dont know how you guys shower in Malaysia anymore, but here, you shower in a fixed cubible, so you dont wet the entire bathroom.

Somehow, when he showers (which is not often. Once  a week!), EVERYTHING is wet!!!!!!!

  • The sink
  • The toilet bowl
  • The windows
  • The toilet paper
  • the walls
  • the floor

HOW THE HELL DO PEOPLE IN CHINA SHOWER??????????????????????????AND THEY MOAN ABOUT FLOOODS. THEY WAY THEY SHOWER, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO yours truly has to TRY and tell him that here, in NZ, toilets are kept dry. As much as possible. Which is difficult to a person where a wet (and stinky! Reall the infamous china toilets) toilet is normal to understand.

They can rave lunatic that they have 2000 years of history, they are the oldest civilisation, but to me, thats ALL RUBBISH!!! They spend 2000 years and still cant  keep a toilet clean. Me say "Your history and civilisation is 100% useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

WHAT HAS CHANGED IN CHINA FROM OUR FOREFATHERS TIME??? NOTHING!!!!!!

It was better in the old days where the china men were locked up in china. They really shouldnt be given passports. If I was the immigraion dept I'll isolate all these MC to a SEZ (Special Englsih zone) where speakiing any other language other than English is a CRIME!!!!!!

And this is coming out of a chinese. So no one can blame me of being racist.

You know how our numbskull politicians whine that the races are not intergrating etc etc? How hard is it to create a "Bangsa Malaysia"? Well, I know one sure way to achieve that. SEND ALL THE CHINESE TO CHINA. JUST EVEN FOR 8 DAYS. WHEN THEY COME BACK, SHOCKED AT HOW BARABRIC AND UNCIVILISED MC ARE, get rid of the NEP and Bumi priviledges, I guranteee "Bangsa Malaysia" boleh dicapai pada tahun 2020!

BELIEVE ME, IT WAS BETTER LOCKING THE CHINA MEN UP IN CHINA LIKE IN THE 70'S. AT LEAST WE DIDNT HAVE BRAINLESS CHINA DOLLS SEDUCING MEN AND BREAKING UP FAMILIES.

Now I have to get back to work.............

Pocky (ichigo) review

For those who do not know POcky, please read (or rather, watch) this post. Or else you have no idea what I am saying.

Ichigo (Strawberry) Pocky. Small packet. Fits neatly in my hands.

Surprisingly, Pocky is quite addictive. I acctually cant stop eating them. Which is a wirry coz the box i have only has 30 sticks or so.

The back of the box. Good for those who want to practise their Japanese. Its a Kana paradise for people like me who can only understand Kana. Click on the pic to see the big picture and read the details.

The packaging inside the box. It is inside here that the fabled Pocky sticks are kept. Sorry for the poor picture. I didnt spend much time with it. A bit blurry, I know.

The strawberry coated sitck. Mmmmmmmmmm......

(I know its not the most flattering picture of me around, but its the only way you'll ever see me. Other people, like the one I live with arent the best fotografers around.

Jeremy Clarkson on "National" cars

From the May/June issue of Top Gear NZ. Jeremy Clarkson's rant and raves on Rover, the last British car maker, now under the hands of the cheating mainland chinese.

The cover. Click on it to see a bigger picture. Borrowed from the library. :P

I cant wait for the day where we can have a Jeremy Clarkson that can openly critize the biggest black hole on our finanaces: Proton.

To the political idiots that keep whining that we are "not patrotic" when we dont buy Proton junk cars, I say, READ THIS ARTICLE!

The full article page, with almost a full page dedicated to the picture of JC.

Close up of the article. Click on the image to see the full picture and to read it. I love national car bashing.

Close up of the first page.

And no, I wouldnt buy something just because it has the "Buatan Malaysia" logo on it. I think that everyone in Malaysia should read this piece. Food for thought for our falling apart "national car", which is 90% Japanese anyway.

Tmnut being sucky

Following Tmnut's announcement that they were performing a "upgrade exercise", my entire MSN list has become very empty and people have been bashing Tmnut with what little bandwidth is left.

Ovbously through, there is enough bandwidth left in the network to see the lowyat treads ballon so much. Even Jeff ooi is not happy. He's had so many problems like here, and even the comments seem to agree with him. Despite Malaysia's most influential blogger trying to connect Tmnet with the people at ground level, even he has little paitence.

Many of my friends, if they can even come on  at all, have become DC (disconnect) kings. Ek Guan still holds the DC king "record" of DC'ing 9 times in 30 mins.

Sure, here I am in "we-have-stupid-data-caps" NZ, but honestly, I dont think its much better either. Using 56K broadband is the worst. Added more that I have to Kongsi with 2 people. KNBS!

Anyone want to give me a real ground situation of how bad streamyx is? Shout out in my shout box or comment how slow it is to stream the top gear clips?

Top Gear crew "tries" to have a holiday

Key Word here is "try"

Its 3 clips. From youtube. The Top Gear crew, consisting of Jeremy, James, Richard and Top Gear dog try to have a comping holiday.

Note:TRY

So, on to Part 1:

Part 2:

And finally, Part 3:

In the process, they show why the British are mad, at least when it comes to the idea of a holiday, how hard it is to drive a caravan, and how to end it with a blast (literary).

A must watch for the Top gear fans out there!

Random Pics from an outing at Botany

Almost a month ago (yes, I know this post is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overdue!), we students had to go down to Botany Downs, to raise some moneiy for the Starship hospital. So I went, just to get out of the house and get some air.

Random Pics of the day:

The Lion Dances and a general overview of the crowd

The Starship Bear, the hospitals mascot.

Bollywood dancers for the Indian Dance

All of us were given this MASSIVE, 9.6 litre bucket to collect donations! All we got was quite literary, a (financial) drop in the bucket!

The Korean Dancers in action.

Me and the weird gang.

Counting the money at the end of it.

Massive Bucket I have to fill.

Me and Erin, one of the Korean dance dancers.

We are F-A-M-I-L-Y...

I really appologies for the weird layout in this post. I didn't put the images correctly. Not enough sleep.

Why Singaporean's are better than Malaysian's

Singapore and Malaysia have a different philosophies of life. This becomes apparent when we compare the two countries' Rules of Simple Living.
Singapore:
1 - One Wife
2 - Two Children
3 - Three Bedroom Condo
4 - Four Wheels
5 - Five Figure Salary
And indeed, that is why 'Singapore is solid'!

Malaysia? Well, Malaysia's Rules of Simple Living are the following:
5 - Five Children
4 - Four Wives
3 - Three Figure Salary
2 - Two Wheels
1 - One-Storey Link House...

Curi'ed from somewhere............. :P

Me and the mid-day moon

Random pics I took when I was walking around the wet lands today.

Pic taken around 5pm.

Not unusual, but during winter it was weird, as the moon could be seen for 90% of day time!

Teh Tarik in Space anyone?

Even the NZ Herald took note of our weird attempt.

Not only in NZ, but it seems the world also paid some attention of Malaysians trying to make teh tarik in space.

More from here and here.

I just wonder how are they going to do that. Being on earth, with gravity, its not easy. With space, ie no gravity, how are they going to tarik the teh?

Amongst other problems I can think are:
  • Will the russians allow durian on board?
  • How is he going to pray in space? Where's Mecca? Or where's up in the first place?
  • With at least 40 sunrises in space while orbiting the earth, where and when are the "morning" prayers?
  • And hows the air up there?
Anymore than anyone can think off?

Tribute to Crocodile Hunter

In the front page of the NZ herald yesterday. Click for the big picture.

My respect and condolences to the passing of a great man who amused us with his crocodile anticts.

There will never be another like him.

Tsubasa Chronicle in Sept 2006's Newtype

A Kurogane and Tomoyo pairing. Click on the image to see the bigger picture. I really wish the scan was better quality, so I can see what the seiyu's for Kurogane and Tomoyo (voiced by Tetsu Inada and Maaya Sakamoto respectively) have to say about the both of them.

Like the cute and younger verson of Kurogane through. And no one can fail to fall under the spell of Tomoyo-hime.

Want more scans?

From the August verson of newtype. As usual, big image in click. Tomoyo looks weird through.

Chibi overload! August 2006 Newtype was very fruitful! And Mokona has its own school! (read the cloud box at bottom right)

An old image from the manga.

Haruhism virus afflicts Newsweek

(For those who still have no idea what Haruhism is, the part one crash course and part two sequel is here. Read and be educated to fight this plague!)

Ninghua-In a blow to the anti-Haruhism movement, even the generally respectable Newsweek, if you ignore a few controversies, are the latest victim of the Haruhism plauge.

In a recent article talking about the highly popular internet video clip site youtube's influence in Japan, the magazine HAD to say:

Already, though, YouTube has become a major conduit of the popular buzz. A cartoon aired by a local TV station, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, has become a national phenomenon.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Click on image to see the full article in Newsweek. Or click here to read the online verson.

WHY, oh why, did it have to mention the dreaded sentance, lamented ninghuashijiedongmanshehuiderenmingfanduihaluyishenjiao's (宁华世界动漫社会的人民反对哈卢意深教) leader Ning-Hua. He bemoaned the shortsightness of the author, Akiko Kashiwagi, saying "Surely there are other things to watch on youtube than a couple of idiots making total fools of themselfs?!"

He got so upset, and started denouncing all supporters of Haruhism, saying "The world has truly gone mad. When there are much other better things to watch, such as the timeless Tsubasa Chronicle" which there is no secret the person behind Ninghua.blogspot.com is a big fan of.

Ning-Hua called on the saner minds of the anime universe of stand up and fight this plague. "Despite the fact that Suzuma Haruhi no Yuutsu (凉宫春日的忧郁[14全]) has finished airing in Japan, its radicilised supporters, most clearly influence by this plague, show no sign of backing down. If anything, they are even more determined to take over the world, by asking for a second season based on the novels."

"The plague is getting worst" warned Ning-Hua. "We have received reports of a break-off group calling itself Kyon'ism trying to ride on the wave of this infection and wreck even more damage." Ning-Hua had dire warnings for the entire anime world, saying "If we dont rise up and fight this plague now, it will grow into the monstrosity and eventually overwhelm the rest of the anime community" He showed intelegence reports that the cult was trying to create the "Ten commands" of Haruhism and "poison the minds of unssupecting people to join this rabid cult"

Ninghuashijiedongmanshehuiderenmingfanduihaluyishenjiao's (宁华世界动漫社会的人民反对哈卢意深教) later issued a statement calling this mention of Haruhism in a respected magazine "the biggest misreporting we have seen to date" and its Leader Ning-Hua added a personal responce saying "What do these people see in parodies? They only serve to waste time and clog up percious bandwidth that could be used to learn and watch real facts."

The other Merdeka celebration

Side rant: 1 more paper to go. Can I tahan it out? I feel like I'm going to break any minute.

While the rest of Malaysia Celebrates their Merdeka Celebrations under the blissful ignorance of disregarding us East Malaysian, this Kuching'ite spent 31 Aug like another day, in the exam room. And why not? No Malaysians here to shout anything.

Anyway, the good news. AT least that scumbag our "deputy PM" did praise us for the good performance. And why not? I know some people who put their heart and time, lots of time involving just to satisfy the big shots.
The Bad news? After the parade ended, they cabut back to the civilisation called Putrajaya.

Told you they dont care for us East Malaysians. The only came coz its Kuching's turn this year.

But behind the spin by the Government press , did anyone notice any chinese in the celebrations? Even the star admits that it could only find bumi's willing to interview. They say focus on progress, but with idiots like Najib and Khairy in the leadership, how can we ever progress? Honestly, I still cant undertsand why we put up with people like these who dont give a damn for us East Malaysians.

At least the parade did wonders to Kuching's economy, infrasturcture and roads. Even if it was just for 1 week. and kept the tourst dollars happy.

This guy should look closely at the crowd. Can you see who makes the bulk of the audience? All Bumi's! You think we chinese got so much time to waste to look at RM20 million of our oil, gaz and timber revenues be soaked up by some crony profiting from this ah?

And what is this school getting more than what my alma mater, Batu Lintang ever got? Sure, its a special school, with special children, but honestly Najib, have you ever visited it? How long did it take you to realise that? Honestly, those Peninsula scumbags dont give a damn about us. Witness our roads. Havent they destoryed enough already?

Read his lips: we want feedback from the people. Just the wants we want to hear. Well, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, heres my feedback:

a) Stop spending RM20 mil on a celebration. Here in NZ they dont have a National day(were technically part of the British commonwealth or something like that), but we have ANZAC day, and they just cost a nice NZ$2 mil for a 4 hour nationwide celebration.
b)We Kuching people should have the right to have full, unrestricted access to the Padang to see the celebrations and take pictures of Tai Tai's stealing flowers, amongst other things.
c)Dont close schools. Why on earth does St Tom and St Mary get a day off, while we, poor normal people have to go, just beacuse you close the road for your own benefit?!
d) Must the poor kids wake up at 5AM to practise?
The nice thing about being overseas, and being afflicated with the Malaysian-Singaporean club that most of the people there have lived in NZ for most of their lives, is that NO ONE GIVES A DAMN HERE! We Malaysians are out numbered by the kiasu's. Sigh. Always a minority where ever we go.

And heres a Ninghua community message:

MALAYSIA WAS FORMED ON 16th SEPTEMBER, NOT 31 AUGUST YOU SINGLE CELLED IDIOTS WHO DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT US! 31 AUG IS MALAYA LAH!

And now, we resume normal programing.
