My room, v3.0

Pictures of my room, by request and demand. Pics are all 640x480, and while they have been heavily compressed, it's still not 56K safe. But everybody needs Broadband anyway. :)

The images are resized, but click on them to see a bigger image, the original which is in 640x480. Hope all the images get uploaded. Its alot of images!

Entrance to my room from the corridor

The view of my room from my door.

View of my table from the door.

From the other side of the room. Door out is on the left.

Close up of my table. Usually its alot more messy than this. :) Note the cables at the bottom right. Thats mess junction.

Close up of all the cables. From top to bottom on the power socket board: My table lamp, the battery charger propped up by my handphone charger, and the notebooks power supply.

View of my table and wardrobe when the door is slightly closing. When the door is open (see above few pic) its not easy to get to the wardrobe. The door has to be closed to get and open the wardrobe.

View of the chest of drawers and non-functioning TV. Side view, with TV that doesnt work. No seriously. It doesnt. Its just a place to dump my stuff.

Bed. Nuff said.

My bed. When its made up and looks normal. Note the heater switch at bottom right of the bed.

Close up of my "bedside table". All library books.

Door to my balcony, at the left of the wardrobe chest. In winter it was mad to open it, but now as we head to summer its not too bad. Normally closed, but opened to show you guys. And to let the cold breeze in.

View from my balcony. The balcony isnt that big in the first place anyway.

Outside the house. As you can see, the terrain is sloped, so the garage is down there, and the living area is higher up. That's G's car. We call the Filipino "G". Yep, just one letter. From his name Giyan.

Side view of the house. You can clearly see my room and balcony.

So now you know how I live. And with google earth, spy on me. :P

My room

Heres a tour of my room. WARNING:TONS OF IMAGES. 100% NOT 56K SAFE!

The entry to my room. View from my door.

My bed and my bedside table. Note the water bottles.

Another view of my bed and bed side table. The white dish is filled with water to make sure the room is not to dry.

My window view. It looks out into the "garden" and the garage. Thats where we had the BBQ.

Me on my bed, after coming back from church. I'm down to 2 layers of clothes and had took off my formal clothes.

My cupboard where I keep some of my clothes. Shoes are kept at bottom left. The red basket thinggi is where I put my clothes that have to be washed, and when laundry is done she just takes everyting from the basket.

I put my notebook on the white cupboard when I'm not using it, and I want to use my desk. Right now it's playing GTO.

Another view how my desk and my notebook is when I'm studying.

This is how my room is mostly in when I'm using the desk. When I'm doing homework or paperwork, the notebook is put at the back. So this accounts for the delay when picking up the skype phone sometimes.

How my desk looks when my notebook is on it. As you can see, it's still very messy. The wastebasket is under the desk. Plugs are at my left where I sit.

A close up on the plugs. The socket on the extreme right is konked! I knew we should have tested there china made stuff before I left Kuching! So I rotate the middle plug between the battery charger and my handphone charger. My notebook transformer is permanently an the left socket. Quite messy, but it does the job. The notebook wires are not so tightly packed to I can easily move my notebook between my desk and the cupboard. I never use my battery here! Its always on AC power.

The blue cable is the ethernet port. The house is wired up with an ethernet port in most rooms. The sockets in the room are channeled into the basement, where the modem and hub is. The broadband is not that fast here, but comparable to Malaysia. But there is a 10 GB limit/month, and that limit includes BOTH upload and download data! So all the upload and download data has to be less than 10 GB/month, or else they trottle to 56K speeds! I've ran a few tests, and found the REAL (achieveable) speed is 1 Mbit download, and 128k upload. So if 3 of us are on at the same time, uploading my blog is insane! Damn Telecom which limits ALL BB ISP's in NZ to an upload speed of 128K! (yes, its true!)

On the left of the ethernet socket is a normal phone socket. But you need a microfilter to use the phone. All the phones is the house has a microfilter attached to it.

A overwiew of electrical connectivity. The eletric plug is under my desk.

My wardrobe. It has no lock, unlike the German guys room. I've talked to them about at least installing a simple lock on the drawers in my desk (look bottom left of picture), but no follow up so far.

Inside the wardrobe. Sorry for the "squashed" picture. I'm too lazy to take another one, coz to do so I need to take out the SD card from the computer, put into the camera, turn it on set the time and date, take one or 2 pics, turn the camera off, open the battery compartment to get the SD card, and have to re-set the time and date ALL over again.

Pics of the house and the cars will come in due time. It took me almost 45 mins to hammer out this post, from taking pics to resizing them to uploading them to arranging them to typing the text! My hands and shoulder are tired!

Mah contact

All communications books say to make your contact as visible as possible.

So heres an entire page dedicated to my contact:

tim.alphatester at gmail dot kom ( With a 'C' not 'K'!)

For those who cant read my stuff to avoid jank mel, heres it in English:

Why Ninghua?

Why ning hua? What does it mean? What are the chinese words?

To be honest, its random. It just hit me when I was thinking of a name for this site. And the word Ning hua just hit me. It sounded good, so I figured, why not?

I dont even know what the chinese word is for!

Through later I found out that "ninghua" is acctually a county in China.(scroll down to to Sanming city to see it)

To be honest, I have no idea that was it. However, it seems that the some Hakkas came from Ninghua county in Fujian province.

I`m a Hokkien. And I`m proud of it. In any case, the word ninghua doesnt mean anything. Its just my sites name!

My tiny room at Qualthrough St

Honestly, I'm looking forward to when I can move out, through that will bring another problem: finding another place to stay. Anyway, pics of my 4m by 2m room (click on all of them to see a larger version):

Old picture I got. Since when did Proton export the wira to Australia?

Entrance to my room. I'm in room no 7. Next to me is a Mainland Chinese and a Pakistani.

What you see when you come in. A bed banged into the wall and a long plank of wood they call a table. See the rice cooker?

If you turn around, you'll see the "cupboard", where I store my things.

Close up of the "cupboard". 20KG bag of rice on the left (I'm running low now through), plus musli bars for a quick breakfast.

View from my bed. Long and narrow plank of wood. Where the table lamp is where I do my work. It is really a terrible place to study, with the desk narrow and all. Very cramped.

Close up view of my bed. The fan is just at my feet. As the window faces east, it can get quite glaring.

The top of the fridge becomes a handy dumping ground for my things. The fridge stinks BTW. Having all the food in there doesnt help, but I think the previous owner also was a lousy cleaner. Free magnets on the fridge also provide a handy place to stick notices and reminders.

My fridge. This pic was taken after a long nice bout of shopping. Usually its alot more empty than this! And yes, I am getting sick of my cooking.....

Behind the door is where I hang my stuff. Yes, the bag is still there. Handy to store things in.

The back of my door has a "floor plan". My room is not much bigger than the others.

My rearranged room

Heres my room that reuben, Bonnie and I rearranged yesterday. Look at this post for a comparision from my previous arrangement.

Heres the entry to my room. Note you now see my desk as the first thing you see.

My shoes are now the first thing you see and smell. :)

A general view of my table and the cupboard . note that my table is cleaner now, and there is a huge beer mug to satisfy my water requirements. Hold on, let me go and get a drink, my mug's empty.

My table. Guess what's playing this time? This table is now facing the wall, with the side facing the window. So I get the evening sun, and what ever heat I can scrape out from the fading sun.

BTW, pics were taken in noon time, after my lunch.

The studious guy at work in front of the computer. The wires can be a bit of a pain really. The bundle of wires are the my headfones. As you see, it keeps being all tangled up, and it is a pain to untangle the mess all the time.

Oh, and I think I need a hair cut soon.

Thats my chest of wardrobes. With my books, files and all. Note the power socket on the bottom left of the picture.

One for the handfone, one for the computer, and one for the battery charger.

The mess under my table. the blue line is the ethernet line. thats the notebook transformer at the bottom. My table lamp is connected in the top mains plug.

My bedside table is now at the end of my bed. A pain really. The red basket is my laundry basket. And note my trusty handfone on the bottom left.

My bed. As you can see, I havent removed the paper notes I put next to my table. Will do that soon when I feel like it.

The switch for the eletrict blanket. HEAT at night! My saviour! I cant show you the eletrik blanket through, coz its under all those layers of blankets, beed sheet, winter sheets, bah! Too lazy.

Me on my bed. Pic taken by Hans.

Wide shot of me on the bed. I'm lovin it!
